Our Inspiration to Take Action
Our desire to change attitudes about stereotypes has roots in multiple causes. The careless word choices we and an astounding number of our peers make, as well as the uninformed assumptions our classmates made about Costa Rica on our school trip frustrated us. The stereotypical views many people had of African Americans during the Civil Rights movement and Jane Elliott's Blue Eye/Brown Eye experiment were also influential.
